NANJING ECO HI-TECH ISLAND 2023 HALF MARATHON APPROACHES

The NANJING ECO HI-TECH ISLAND 2023 HALF MARATHON will be held on Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-tech Island (SNEI) in Jianye district, Nanjing on April 16,with an estimated 10,000 runners to attend.
Registration starts at the beginning of March.
This year’s 22.4-kilometer-long course, located along Jiangdi Road on the island, starts and ends at Nanjing Youth Olympic Forest Park, connecting a variety of popular scenic spots. Jiangdi Road was praised as“the most beautiful marathon route in the world”by former IOC President Jacques Rogge, and it was also awarded “the most beautiful running route in Jiangsu province”in 2019, thanks to Jianye district’s persistence in ecological protection and green development over the years.
In 2009, the construction of SNEI began, and both economic development and ecological protection have received equal attention since then. The original 2.5 hectares of taxodium ascendenson the island have been carefully preserved, and the original rural rivers have been dredged and widened.What’s more, over 300 hectares of riverside landscape belts and large ecological parks have been built.The island has become a sponge city demonstration area in Jiangsu province, and the greening rate of the whole island has exceeded 70%.
The marathon will become window for the world to learn more about Singapore Nanjing Eco Hi-tech Island and Jianye district.At present,the preparations for the race have started in an all-round way.
